Job Description:

For people with learning disabilities and their families
Hourly rate: £11.18
Hours: 3.5-12hrs per week, alternate Wednesday and Friday evenings, and every Saturday afternoon
Centre 404 is a well-established charity with an excellent reputation for providing high quality support and services to people with learning disabilities and their families in North London.
We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable individuals to support young people and adults to take part in fun and exciting activities; develop their interests and skills; and access community facilities.
Senior Support Workers are responsible for the delivery of a programme of activities, aimed at supporting people to develop their social connections; improve their health and wellbeing; and to feel safer and more confident in their local communities. Sessions are delivered both in our centre and in the local community, such as leisure centres and parks.
We are looking for a Senior Support Worker for three of these groups. The same person could apply for an individual group or a combination of the three:
• Warm and Welcome Wednesdays (alternate Wednesdays) 4.5 hrs
• Friday Night Social (alternate Fridays) 3.5 hrs
• Out & About (every Saturday) 4.5 hrs
We welcome applications from Support Workers who have experience of working with diverse client groups. Previous experience at a Senior Support Worker level is not essential as full training and induction will be provided. Therefore, if you have an enthusiastic attitude, a willingness to learn and develop new skills, and the ability to work positively on your own and as part of a team, we will be interested in hearing from you. This role is ideal for anyone looking for a stepping stone to progress their career within social care, with the aim of developing further knowledge and abilities in care management.
Centre 404 is dedicated to staff development and supervision and we will provide on-going support to enable the successful candidate to grow within this role. We are also committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of adults at risk and we are looking to recruit people who share these values. All offers of employment are therefore subject to an enhanced DBS check, proof of eligibility to work in the UK and two satisfactory references.
How to apply:
Application packs can be downloaded from our website at Alternatively you can email us at or call us on 020 7 to request further information. When applying for this role, please specify whether you are interested in all three groups or only one or two.
Closing date: 9:00am on Monday 7th August 2017
Interviews: Friday 11th August 2017
