Job Description:

The GMC has partnered with Robert Walters to recruit a Senior Developer to join their new systems integration team in Manchester.

About the Company

The General Medical Council helps to protect patients and improve medical education and practice in the UK by setting standards for students and doctors. We support them in exceeding those standards and take action when they are not met.

At the GMC, you'll find a career in a stimulating workplace, with colleagues from diverse backgrounds, and opportunities to develop and progress - in an organisation that really makes a difference. In return, you'll benefit from being part of an organisation that is genuinely committed to its people. We offer an attractive salary and benefits package including a fantastic pension with a 15% employer contribution.

Job Description

We're looking for a Senior Developer within our new systems integration team. Our aim is to deliver high quality digital experiences and provide excellent internal systems. You'll be instrumental in making that happen.

As this is a newly formed team, you will have a great opportunity to help shape the way in which the team deliver software. The team will be following agile and lean principles so you will work closely with other disciplines such as Business Analysts and QA Engineers as well as a dedicated Product Manager to establish solutions that really meet users' needs.

To be equal to the challenge, you'll need proven experience and understanding of Agile with a wealth of expertise across .Net, C#, Visual Studio, TDD, Web API, RESTful, SOAP and WCF. Your experience ideally includes work on Middleware and integration applications, ideally linking in to Enterprise Systems' APIs and databases.

Outside of your immediate team, we are looking for a developer with a passion for technology. As the team continues to grow, we want to start introducing brown bag sessions, regular blog posting and team outings to tech talks across the city as well as other innovative activities to encourage sharing and learning.

A registered charity, we value diversity because our differences make us stronger. So, our processes are fair, objective, transparent and free from discrimination.
