Job Summary
The Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University seeks a program coordinator for educational programs and research as part of our work on a new emerging Pop-up Institute for "Rebooting Social Media", which will be a hub for programming, research, and convening series on the future of social media and online communication. The program coordinator will join the Berkman Klein Center's world-class community of scholars and practitioners, and work in close collaboration with the Berkman Klein Center and eventual Institute's team of staff, fellows, and faculty to advance a range of interdisciplinary, cutting-edge programs and research related to the study and development of Internet & society.

Job-Specific Responsibilities
As Program Coordinator, you will:
Provide administrative and operational support to implement Institute programs and research activities, including scheduling and organizing meetings, developing and implementing administrative systems and processes, monitoring overall timelines and outputs, and contributing to project deliverables and grant reports;
Coordinate program activities, including the review of applications for fellowship programs, schedule and organize seminar series, events, workshops, and meetings, and maintain online project management tools;
Communicate with and serve as a point of contact for internal and external partners, including students, faculty, and program participants;
Support program communication efforts, including producing basic graphic design for materials and writing and editing web content, blog posts, memos, and other internal and external documents;
May research and prepare briefing and background materials for educational program sessions, meetings, and events; may supervise interns and research assistants as needed.
Assist with presentations and program facilitation;
Support the creation of program communities and contribute to Institute and Center goals by accomplishing related duties as required
Basic Qualifications
Three or more years of related experience. Education beyond high school may count towards experience.
Additional Qualifications and Skills
We are looking for people who are/have:
Organizational and substantive work experience for non-governmental or academic organizations strongly preferred
Knowledge of or prior work experience with Internet, technology policy, social media related issues, and/or internet research and publishing tools is preferred
Proactive, highly organized, detail-oriented, and remain calm under pressure.
Effective communication and facilitation skills, including solid writing, editing, and proofreading skills
The ability to work flexibly in independent and team environments
Keen coordination and project management skills
Motivated to thrive in a committed, collaborative community that encourages creativity and supports deep inquiry
